About

Welcome to the blog!  I’ll be periodically posting updates on DCP’s latest film Crooked & Narrow, including festival news and other interesting bits, as well as any updates on our first film, Second-Story Man.

You can read about those films on IMDb HERE and HERE. Facebook links are HERE and HERE.

Or just go to the DCP site.

I’ll also be using this blog to write about the films I see, which, depending on how much else I have to do, can be a lot.  I’ll try to write at least a paragraph about every single one I watch, regardless of quality.  This isn’t meant as a page for film review, though it may come off that way at times, but instead a place for thoughts, reactions, and maybe some discussion.

One of my goals on this blog is to write less about story and more about the mechanics of filmmaking as I see them.  That means things like shot selection, camera movement, blocking of actors, production design, sound design, and score, among others.  I’ll inevitably discuss character and story, but, with the emphasis so squarely on those elements in popular film criticism, I’d prefer to diverge in this forum.

Creative minds united across the unconscious be that space collective or not as debated by post Jungian discussion. However that discussion is decided, I look forward to being connected to your thoughts. my friend.

We’ll keep the post-Jungian to a minimum, Molly.

That is the most times I’ve ever used this phrase in a two-day span. I usually spread it out over at least a four-day period.

  3. Great blog. Can’t remember how exactly I came across it, but I’m glad I did. I really do look forward to reading all your posts. Your taste in film in impeccable; your insights on directing spot on. I look forward to seeing your film one day.
